Ae Dil Hai Mushkil trailer: Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma swing between love and friendship as Karan Johar reveals yet another intriguing, high-on-romance tale.
If Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s title track introduced us to unrequited love the way only Karan Johar can, its second trailer dropped us in a vat of passion and coated us in love. Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan are now back with the trailer of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and this time the third angle of this triangle has been revealed — friendship.
What aces in your life — love or friendship? Anushka Sharma roots for friendship with Ranbir and then goes ahead and falls in love with the bearded-and-buff Fawad Khan. Ranbir is heartbroken and then he finds the ethereal Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She is a poetess and a femme fatale. He is smitten, so are we.
And then Anushka is back — what does she want this time, love or friendship? Only Ranbir has made up his mind — ”mujhse pehle jaisi mohabbat mere dilbar na maang,” he tells Anushka with Aishwarya by his side. Now only if love and friendship were that simple.
Karan Johar is in his elements and we cannot wait to spend those two hours in a dark theatre with Ranbir, Aishwarya and Anushka with Fawad Khan on the side. And wait, there is Shah Rukh Khan too but you can see him only in spirit in the trailer.
Before the release of the trailer, the entire cast of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil appeared to be on social media, whipping up the buzz. Ranbir Kapoor — well known for his aversion to social media — hacked on to Ae Dil Hai Mushkikl’s Twitter handle and posted a tweet, “Baby Jo. Rk here. Trailer ka time toh bata sabko. @karanjohar.” To this, Karan Johar replied, “RK!!! Will tell the time when you get officially onto this amazing platform called @TwitterIndia.”

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will clash with Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited directorial venture Shivaay which also releases on October 28. The two Diwali releases are both big-budget films and have been creating controversies months before the actual clash happens. Ajay Devgn had claimed Karan had paid Kamaal R Khan to play up his film and slam Shivaay. Karan refused comment on the issue and KRK claimed no one had paid him.
